Livestock Risk Fund

The Livestock Risk Fund is a program that aims to protect the livelihoods of herders and support sustainable solutions to coexist in harmony with nature by compensating for livestock losses caused by snow leopards and wolves. The program is implemented under the direct supervision of the Leopard Center for Livestock Conservation.


By participating in the program, you, the herder, will enjoy the following opportunities:
  • Compensation for livestock killed by snow leopards and wolves

  • Participate in a fence and security program with installment terms

  • Participate in support programs during natural disasters such as drought and dzud

  • Join a non-governmental organization and become a member of a financially secure system

  • Conditions will be created for receiving support and donations from governmental and non-governmental organizations, donor countries, and environmental protection and pastoralist support organizations.


Requirements
  • At least 50 herder households must be covered in the soum.

  • Herders must join the program with at least 10 members.

  • The herdsman will participate in the program with the livestock account number “A”.


Standard fees for herders
  • Livestock: 15,000 tugriks

  • Small livestock: 2,000 tugriks
